The clinical study team LIAISON is pleased to announce that the text entitled ''International cross-sectional and longitudinal assessment on Asthma Control in European adult patients - the LIAISON study protocol'' has been accepted for publication in the journal BMC Pulmonary Medicine.

This publication aims to present the design of the LIAISON study, the largest observation study ever conducted in asthmatic patients, at European level.

The study was conducted in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Spain, Holland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. The study, conducted throughout Europe, aims to assess the level of asthma control and quality of life by examining how more than 8,000 asthmatic patients are treated therapeutically.

The study includes a synchronous phase and a second perspective phase of one year. Patient inclusion in the study is currently underway and will be completed in a few months. Patients with uncontrolled asthma at the first visit will be monitored for 12 months in order to assess the success rate of control.

This is the first publication for the LIAISON study and we are confident that other important studies will soon follow, starting with the results of the synchronous phase that are expected by the end of the year.
